I need a home!

Welcome to the Vigil GSD Rescue website!

Vigil was founded in 1984 and is a registered charity that rescues and re-homes German Shepherd Dogs throughout the UK. The rescue is a non-profit organisation that is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, and we rely totally on donations from the general public to keep the rescue running.

Trustee Stella MacNay has been on Eagle Radio talking about Vigil GSD Rescue, German Shepherds, the help we need, and how she got involved.  Click here to visit Eagle Radio and listen to Stella's great broadcast!

Can you help Judy?
We have launched an appeal to help Judy - she is a lovely nine year old who has having quite a bit of veterinary treatment.  Click here for more info

Please give Adrian your support... As you may know, Pets at Home in Farnham have been giving us their support.  And their Store Manager, Adrian, is preparing to do rather a lot of running for Farnham Pets at Home charities.  Find out how you can support him here...

Used stamps   Please save your used stamps to help our German Shepherds - every stamp makes a difference.  Collecting your stamps has raised well over £200 for us so far :-) Find out more here...

Your online shopping is helping our German Shepherds     Thank you so much for all those of you who are choosing to support Vigil GSD Rescue as your charity when you're doing your shopping online with Easyfundraising.com.  You've raised over £600 :-)  Thank you for your wonderful support!  Click here to find out how things are going and how you can get involved & help German Shepherds this way.

I need a home!

From the first day Vigil began operations we boarded dogs at Treetops Kennels in Guildford and we are thrilled to still be operating from Treetops.

We are proud to be one of the few rescues in the UK that will take on problem dogs and work with them for as long as it takes to ensure the dog can be re-homed successfully.

You can support our efforts to help German Shepherds by making a Donation  or  by sponsoring a dog if you are unable to adopt.  You can also help as you shop online, through Easyfundraising.com by choosing to support us.  You can also become a member

Details of the dogs looking for homes can be found in the Dogs section of the website and also check the Forum for feedback on individual dogs from the Trustees & walkers.

If you wish to contact Vigil regarding adopting dog, volunteering or if you know of a dog that needs our help, please click on the Contact Us link above.
