Enrique is a 7-8 year old male German Shepherd Dog. Enrique is a very nice dog, loves to be the boss with other dogs, but originally came to the rescue with Buster, another dog, so no problems foreseen. Comes from a family returning to the UK. Currently at a rescue centre in Southern Spain but coming to the UK in June.
There is no need for a quarantaine in the UK as Holly will have everything done that is required to enter the UK: Micro-chip, sterilization, jabs, bloods/Leishmania/Heartworm/Tick fever tests, parasite treatment, and will have a pet passport.
The situation is appalling in Spain, bad enough with the normal amount of strays and injured dogs, but since last year the situations has worthened as many British are leaving Spain to return to the UK and abandon their dogs (and cats), leave them to their own devices. The amount of dogs at this particular rescue that we are helping has doubled within one year and the situation in other rescues is the same, they are all overcrowded. If it wasn't for all those "foreigners" in Spain who rescue dogs and cats, all these animals would be killed in the most cruel ways you can imagine and that is why we are determined to help and get as many dogs out of Spain as possible.
At the moment we have arranged for 8 dogs to come from this rescue over to the UK later in June. It will be a mixed bag of breed, but includes two GSDs, Holly and Enrique which we placed on this website today.
