Tyson 1y male

Postby nat » Sun Nov 22, 2009 10:58 pm

Tyson has come into Vigil's care from another GSD Rescue.

They told us: "Shows aggression to most people. will sit and go down on the finger. fast and aloof. no good with animals in general needs reassurance and T.L.C. to overcome previous bad handling."

From the volunteer at the kennel : "After his arrival at the kennel, he was growling and snarling at anyone coming near him. Once I entered his run he changed character and quickly accepted attention. I spent a lot of time grooming him and he showed himself to be a lovely affectionate boy.
I spent more time grooming him yesterday. John took him for a nice walk by the river and we have mixed him with other dogs. He is going to make a great addition to some lucky family!"

We are working on improving Tyson issues and would like to find for him an experienced GSD home who can continue his training.

I have walked Tyson on six occasions each walk lasting between 1-2 hours and have also spent time with him in a run and his kennel. He walks well on a lead and has met cyclists, horses, fishermen, runners, walkers and OTHER DOGS and ignored them all, he will sit when told, likes a love and puts his paw up when he wants more if you stop.

Tyson is a young dog, who through no fault of his own had a bad start to his life and is understandably sometimes apprehensive and nervous when meeting strangers for the first time. If somebody put the effort into reassuring Tyson that there are some nice people out there they would have a very special dog.

You may also like to consider a name change as he is not really a Tyson and in fact he can be a bit of a wimp, he is not happy in kennels and needs to put on some weight.

Can you give him a chance????

Tyson has changed a lot since he has been with us. He is now a more balanced friendly dog. He has had a lovely time today playing with his mate Ted.
He is a very affectionate dog once he got to to know you.
He had a good walk with 2 other dogs this afternoon.
He would love to find a loving home as he doesn't like to be in kennels.

I now understand that Tyson is being looked after /fostered together with another Vigil girl by Rachel who works at the kennels in her own accomadation at the kennels and both are doing well together, Rachel has a real love for the shepherds and goes beyond the call of duty to help our shepherds when needed Thank you Rachel.
