Jacob is a lovely friendly young male who has come in to us today from a pound. He seems really friendly to everyone he meets. he's only got three legs. As he came from the pound, we have no information about his previous life, but he seems a very well adjusted and well socialised boy
Please contact one of the trustees if you want more information and organize a homecheck.
as jacob only has 3 legs we feel he would be best suited to a family who will only take him on short walks as he does tire after a while and lays down to rest his other bk leg... but sayin that he loves to play run and jump and doesnt let having 3 legs affect his everyday life.. he love chasing and catchin a football. he loves people and seems very good with other dogs. he is stunning to look at and has a very friendly and loving nature.
AIMEE Vigil volunteer!!!! 3 dogs 5 cats no more room!
We met Jacob last week and so so hope he finds his new forever home soon. What an absolute sweetheart, so friendly and unbelievably fast on 3 legs when he's chasing his football. If we didn't want long walks he would have come home with us there and then. The sweetest, kindest natured dog any family would adore xxx
We had Jacob out for a walk by the river today. He is very keen and pulls like a train despite his shortage in the leg department. At first when you set out he is too 'hyper' but does settle down. I'm sure if he gets regular attention he will learn to be more calm. He is a lovely positive character who doesn't seem to know he's not disadvantaged!
At first he was on a normal lead ad was pulling like cazy in any direction that took his fancy. After I put him on a long line his desire to go wherever subsided and he settled nicely into walking close to us.
we collected jacob today and brought him to his new home near oxford.he was a little fidgety in the car but we put that down to him tinking he was going to the v e t. we took him for a walk with our lurcher alfie as soon as we got home and they we're fine.we then introduced him to our kitten and he didn't bat an eye at this.as i write this jacob is lying at my side and is very relaxed.thanks to all at vigil for letting us have such a wonderful dog colin and zoe noall
jacob continues to settle in with us.we had handbags thisevening when our lurcher tried to take jacobs bone jacob warned him but when he tried again we had a lot of noise and posturing but swift seperation and removal of offending bone both parties calmed down and assumed sulking positions on seperate sides of the lounge.then after a few miutes of competitive sighing we we're out in the garden and best mates again.jacob has only eaten one bowl of food since sunday morning he had a tin of sardines thismorning but wasn't interested in food thisevening does anybody at treetops have any tips about what his favorates are and timing.we will post some pics soon colin and zoe noall
here is another update on our beautiful boy jacob he's doing really well his lead work is improving and he no longer pulls as much. i went for a little paddle with him on sunday not by design it was as we passed the village pond i was talking to my wife when jacob made a dash straight into the very rich sludgy water and i followed so then we had to squelch back home through the village looking like a couple of coal miners. jacob is eating well now [thanks john] he's not to keen on our nextdoor neibours westie but we have home visits booked with a trainer and the neibours want to work with us on this because they think jacob is great.we still can't thank you enough for letting us have our jacob
