Here is what the dog warden has told another rescue about the situation.
A dog warden has been in touch with me asking if we can help with a 3 year old GSD that has been surrendered into the pound. Time is ticking out for this girl as kennels are full to bursting. I cannot put anymore dogs into kennels, i have just taken 3 in the last week alone. This girl has been in her home since she was 5 weeks old, she has basically been locked in the kitchen with not a lot of socialisation. She barks at everyone she meets, purely because she wants to be left alone and she is frightened. The dog warden walked her and she was ok although "it was like she was resigned to someone touching her and she just gave up and let them".........this girl needs a rescue space urgently.....
I am told she has lived with 5 kids under 5 and 4 cats, Has lived most of her life in the kitchen and garden and we suspect had very little exercise re walks. The neighbours have been shouting at her over the fence, At the moment she is wary of me but is warming to me by the hour, will update when I know more and to let her meet Bob who I have here.
